Level 200: Environment Fundamentals

Too often performers become “talking heads” onstage, frozen in place. We want scenes that come alive before our eyes! Learn to bring physicality to your work on stage.

From a musty local dive bar filled with regulars to a gleaming space station orbiting an alien world, improvisers must be ready to create the “where” of their scenes from thin air. In this Fundamentals course, students will focus on the skills and techniques necessary to transform a stage and a couple of chairs into any environment their scene needs. From studies in object work, finding inspiration in your space work, to becoming the scenery yourself, this class will teach you how to bring your scenes to life.

Wednesdays in October 10/5, 10/19, 10/26

Youth: Performance Troupes

Our innovative Mopco Youth Program is a blast! Throughout the year, our youth groups work with professional improvisers to learn and build improv skills. Improv classes are not just for "theater kids." Flexing the improv muscles is great for: collaboration, communication, outside-the-box thinking, and personal expression. By creating scenes, skits and songs, students will practice the foundations of improv: “Yes, And,” “Make Your Partner Look Good,” and “Creative Risk Taking.”
You could say we're prepping the next generation's power leaders...or just having some ding dang jolly fun.

Ages 10 - 17, 6 weeks, with a performance. Sundays: 1:00 - 2:45 PM.  Fall: October 2, 16, 23, 30, November 6. Performance date: November 13.

Note: if you need a scholarship, we have a limited number available. We want you to come play with us, so please email kyra@mopco.org and ask about it.
