Unleash the power of your intuitive self through improv. This special workshop with a master improv educator will feature techniques of Viola Spolin, as taught by one of her long-time students and associates, Gary Schwartz. Gary is a recognized improv master of Spolin based work, and teaches around the country and world. NOT JUST FOR IMPROV PERFORMERS--all who are interested in improvisation can benefit from this active and playful workshop. TWO SESSIONS, Morning and Afternoon--you may register for one or both.

GARY SCHWARTZ originally hails from Schenectady. A master improvisational acting coach whose 30 years as a performer and Improv teacher has helped transform the lives of thousands of people, both on- and off-screen. Acting credits include Bravo Fox on Zoobilee Zoo with Ben Vereen, Heavy Weapons Guy and Demoman in the video game Team Fortress, and Rouka in Quest for Fire as well as many other stage, voice, and screen roles. He is the founder of LA's Spolin Players, and worked for 18 years with "the mother of American Improv," Viola Spolin.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

18. We offer youth classes for younger improvisers! Check out our mopco.org/classes to find a class.

How active are these classes?

Our classes involve a good amount of physical activity - you should feel comfortable being on your feet for at least an hour. Please email hey@mopco.org with any questions about accommodations for ability.

What is your policy on absences from class?

After two absences, students will not be able to participate in the performance at the end of the class.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Street parking is available on Union and N Jay street by our Theatre. Parking is available in the lot behind Pereca's as well as other public lots within a short walk of the theatre. The lot directly across from us is reserved for the Rossi & Ditorro Funeral Home and is not always available for parking. DO NOT park in the lot by JoJo’s Auto Service or you will be towed. What's the refund policy?

Cancellations for a full refund must be made 7 days or more prior to the first class. Less than 7 days: Your place in the class is non-refundable unless we can get someone to fill your spot.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Please make sure we know who to expect in class.
