4 for 1 Comedy!
A Different Laugh Every Time!
Doors Open @ 7:30pm, Show Starts @ 8:00pm
A slamdance of comedy on the Mopco stage! Four of the best improv groups in the Capital Region come together to create one night of knockout comedy.
Spontaneous Twilight Zone
You have entered a dimension of the familiar and the unexpected… between our highest theatrical ideals and our most cringe-inducing puns. An area that lies fixed between the forces of light and dark comedy. It is a place we call, Spontaneous Twilight Zone. Jennifer Lavenhar, Walt Batyki (Pilates for Infidels) and Michael Burns (The Mop and Bucket Company, Down the Rabbit Hole) join forces to create a fully improvised episode of The Twilight Zone based on an audience selected title. Grab a popcorn and settle in for a hilarious journey into the strange!
Electric City Puppet Improv
They have fur, horns, corrective lenses & plaid shirts. Weirdos, whatnots & whatchamacallits performing improv comedy like you've never seen! Quickly becoming an audience favorite, The ECPI go beyond the limits of human performers to where only puppets dare tread!
Is a longform, experimental house team of The Mop and Bucket Company. Founded in 2014, they perform Armando-style freeform as well as original formats such as Alf's Blue Ribbon, Audio Pacino and I Don't Believe You. Alf Pacino brings their unique brand of ephemeral world-building and storytelling to life on stage.
Will I get picked on by the comedians?
Absolutely not. Improv is about getting inspiration from the audience to help us invent scenes and songs on the spot. We celebrate your contribution to the show because you are part of it. Any volunteers we ask to join us onstage we GUARANTEE will be 110% cooler than they were when they were in their seat.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
There are no minimum age requirements for attendees. Typically shows are within a PG-13 rating. Our performances are improvised so the content is largely determined by the audience and the suggestions you give. We don't avoid "blue" humor but we try to be a little more creative with off-color suggestions than the obvious.
Do you have a late policy for seating?
Yes. Our shows begin promptly. If a performance is sold out, unused tickets will be released to the waitlist beginning at five minutes to curtain. Please arrive early so that your ticket is not re-sold. There are no refunds within 24 hours of show time. Exchanges for a comparable performance can only be made up to two hours prior to a given performance.
What's your snow cancellation policy?
“The show must go on” and, if at all possible, it does at the Mopco. In the event of very extreme weather or natural disaster, we will email ticket holders with the news 3 hours before showtime that we had to cancel. In the event of a show cancellation, ticket holders will be offered alternate dates to choose from to attend a show of equal or lesser value. For those without tickets, please follow our Facebook page for updates.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Street parking is available on Union and N Jay street by our Theatre. Parking is available in the lot behind Perecca's as well as other public lots within a short walk of the theatre. The lot directly across from us is reserved for the Rossi & Ditorro Funeral Home NOT AVAILABLE for parking. DO NOT park in the lot by JoJo’s Auto Service or you will be towed.
