What was your favorite toy as a child?
My favorite toy as a child was, honestly, a plastic curling iron. But I didn't use it to pretend to curl my hair, I made it talk. And his name was “talking curling iron.”
Are you involved in any creative projects you’d like to tell people about?
I'm in Violet the musical, which opens in October at Not So Common Players and choreographing Beauty and the Beast at Schenectady Light Opera Company, which opens in December. I also teach musical theatre at the Performance School of the Arts in Clifton Park.
How do you prepare before Mopco performances?
I listen to music and sing in the car on the way there, drink coffee, and have casual conversation with the other actors I'm performing with that night. Basically, I like to clear my head and not think about performing. I have more fun on stage this way, which makes for a better performance.
Would you rather travel to the moon or the bottom of the sea?
The bottom of the sea! I actually have been to the bottom of the sea several times and it's beautiful. I've made lots of turtle and shark friends!
What’s your motto?
If you never try, you'll never know.
