Applied Improvisation Network Northeast Spring Mini-Conference

  • The Mopco Improv Theatre 10 North Jay Street Schenectady, NY, 12305 United States (map)

Join us for the Applied Improvisation Network Northeast Spring Mini-Conference. People from across the region who use applied improvisation in facilitation, education, leadership development, community work, and other settings gather to connect, exchange ideas, and practice together.

The weekend begins with a Friday afternoon kickoff session, followed by a dinner break and the Mopco improv show that evening. Saturday is a full day of shared practice, a Mopco Theatresports performance, and the gathering wraps up with a Sunday brunch where people reconnect, reflect, and continue conversations before heading home.

On Saturday morning we create the agenda together by identifying two things: requests and offers. Requests are topics people want help with, questions they want to explore, or areas where they would like new activities or ideas. Offers are exercises, tools, or approaches people are willing to share with the group.

From there we build the day together. Participants take turns leading short activities, usually about 10–20 minutes each, allowing the group to experience many different approaches. It’s a chance to bring something you’re curious about, something you’re working on, or something you’d like to share with the community. The focus is on activities and ideas that benefit from being practiced in person with a group.

Participants are welcome to attend the whole weekend or join for the portions that fit their schedule. Bring your curiosity, your questions, and your favorite insights.
