The Most Exciting Comedy Competition in Town
The final for this seasons tournament is here!
It’s been a hard fought battle but it all comes down to this. The Hammocks are on a tear with a nearly perfect season at 6 and 1 and they will be taking on the Queen Bees. The Queen Bees may be the underdog, but their fighting spirit has been on full display this season and aren’t to be counted out yet.
These two teams of crack improvisers will face off in a high-energy contest, battling for points, glory, and your laughter. They perform scenes based on challenges, and a panel of judges scores them on narrative, technique, and entertainment — but watch out, judges can hand out penalties for boring scenes too.
All the thrill of a sporting event. All the hilarity and unpredictability of live improv. Your laughter helps decide the winner. Fast, funny, and completely unscripted — no two shows are ever the same.

How It Works
Theatresports is a structured improv competition format invented by Keith Johnstone and performed by comedy theatres around the world. At Mopco, here's what to expect:
Two teams take the stage and compete head-to-head
Judges score each scene on narrative, technique, and how hard you laugh
Penalties can be issued for scenes that don't land — no coasting allowed
You're part of the show — your reaction matters and the audience energy shapes every performance
Shows run approximately 2 hours with an intermission

Can I come every week? Absolutely, and many people do. Each show has a completely different matchup and set of scenes, so it never gets old.
Where do I park? Mopco is located at 10 North Jay Street in downtown Schenectady. We have a lot next to the theatre. See our Plan Your Visit page for details.
What if my team loses? There's always next season.
