Featured Workshop: Comedy From Connection - 3/15/26

Explore comedy not as the goal of interactions but as a consequence of your connection to yourself, your character, your partner and the scene as it unfolds, from master teacher, Joe Bill!

From Joe: “This workshop focuses on acting in improvisational scenes. I’ll put you in repetitions with partners so you can feel how listening through an emotion (or mood or psychological state), with a willingness to change, can lead to “honest interactions”. You will feel connected, be believable and able to evoke a variety of emotions from yourselves and your audience while also mining from psychological depth.

This workshop will be equally useful for actors and improvisers alike and will include some general and a little bit of individual feedback.”

Featured Workshop: Armando + Showcase - 3/14/26

Learn one of the most popular formats performed all over the world today, the Armando, from master teacher, Joe Bill

From Joe: “We will work on skills that help you to be successful in the 3 elements of the format, Personal stories (Source material), identifying different themes, elements and inspiration for scenes in the personal stories. Then playing, dynamically different scenes that use the stories as inspiration for a bigger piece of theater. We will look at the Armando as a form of both Organic AND Narrative Longform, where the scenes spring forth from the monologues in obvious and non-obvious ways, and as we bring them back we discover the themes and stories that harmonize them into a bigger theatrical picture.” There will be a performance at the end of the workshop for those that wish to play, but the performance is not a requirement to take the workshop.

Improv Fundamentals 1 - Six Wednesdays

Six Wednesdays, 7-9 PM, Mar 4, 11, 18, 25, Apr 8, 15

Support your partner. Listen. Blurt! Weave a fresh, engaging story out of thin air. Is improv comedy? Sometimes, sure. But more importantly, it’s connection.

For actors, writers, performers, and folks who have never performed. Prerequisite: Improv 101 or equivalent (talk to us if you aren’t sure.)This class consists of a combination of games and scene-work, with debriefs that enhance your personal experience.

Notice More: Strengthening Your Listening and Awareness w/ Kat Koppett - February 22

Great improv starts with paying attention.

The great superpower of great improvisers is not the ability to be clever or “interesting” but to notice and build with what exists.
In this class, we’ll slow things down and sharpen this core improv skill: noticing. Understand what listening really entails, and what can get in the way. Practice expanding your awareness, picking up on small details, and letting those details guide the scene.
When you notice more, you don’t have to work as hard. Scenes feel more grounded. Choices feel clearer. And connection happens naturally.
