Improv Performance Basics
Six Wednesdays, 7 pM - 9 PM, Starts October 29th
Showcase Performance December 5th 7:00 PM
It’s great to learn to improvise. To then be able to hold on to the freedom, creativity, and joy you might experience in a class setting when you are in front of an audience takes an additional skill set.
Everything matters when we are on stage. A skilled performer is centered and present, loud enough, and knows how to reduce extraneous movement without becoming stiff. More importantly, they know how to read the room and the moment, and how to adjust their performance to fit.
This class will help you amplify your strengths as a performer, and provide you with ways to strengthen your weaknesses. The class will offer group, pair, and individual exercises and games. Students will receive individual feedback and suggested actions for improvement.
Class is not limited to improvisers — performers from other disciplines or people who present to groups can benefit. Talk to instructor if you aren’t sure it’s the class for you.
